2024-25 Panini Select FIFA is the final Select soccer card release of the year. Hobby boxes have the same makeup as the rest of the Select soccer card sets that have been released since 2022. If you aren’t familiar with the set I suggest reading the 2022-23 Panini Select Serie A review for some background on Select products or the 2024-25 Panini Select La Liga review for more 2024-25 Select soccer card release specifics. As always Panini saved the best for last as far as their Select releases. See what you can expect this year.

2024-25 Panini Select FIFA Breakdown

Checklist HERE
Box Makeup – Hobby (Search On Ebay) – 5 # Cards, 3 Auto or Relic cards
Print Run – ~1500 hobby cases

Soccer Cards HQ Review –  2024-25 Panini Select FIFA is usually the best of the Select releases because it has the widest range of players since Panini has club and country cards. The problem is a lot of these players have been seen before in 2024-25 Select releases. The Select sets were released closer together this year which takes some of the shine off FIFA. The market hasn’t had time to digest the other 3. Panini did up the print run by about 20% this year but it is still a respectable 1500 cases. As we saw with 2023-24 Panini Select FIFA boxes, they dry up very quick. That puts the total Select print between all 4 products at ~6500 cases. That is still considerably lower than 2024-25 Topps Chrome UEFA.

There are some interesting rookies in the set but they’ve either been seen in previous Panini sets like Cavan Sullivan (Search On Ebay) or Topps has them covered like Rodrigo Mora (Search On Ebay). Sullivan will also be covered plenty by Topps in MLS this year, but his US cards will likely be better long term assuming he has success. That is not the end of the world if they completely pop off as Lamine Yamal has shown us. There just won’t be a case like we have seen in past Select products where it’s the only or one of the few cards they have. Neither player showed up in other Select sets since they play in leagues not covered by Panini. Mora only gets a base card while Sullivan gets a couple base, inserts and auto as well as a Visionary case hit.

The 4 case hits are the same as they have been the last few years. Stained Glass (Search On Ebay) are by far the most popular. Panini did a good job of putting a little something for everyone in the checklist. There are the most popular names in the hobby, some legends and even 4 USWNT players. There will be ~50 of each. Artistic Impressions (Search On Ebay) and Visionary (Search On Ebay) will have ~60 each. Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona managed to make all 3 of those checklists because Panini knows that would help a product that likely needed it. There are ~75 of each of the team badges. Like the other Select there is also a Honeycomb (Search On Ebay) parallel that is being described as “elusive”. It seems that some cases have none and some have multiple. Even at a couple per case they would be very short print.

The auto checklist is a normal mix of some top end current players, plenty of legends both big and small and plenty of filler. Lionel Messi (Search On Ebay) and Lamine Yamal (Search On Ebay) do have autos which will help. The one thing that stands out in 2024-25 Panini Select FIFA is the amount of USWNT legend autos. Panini is doing a 1999 World Cup winning 25th anniversary subset in 2024-25 Panini Obsidian so I guess they figured they should include them here too. Some of these will be their first autos ever. There are also a couple of K League player autos.

Panini released 2024-25 panini Select FIFA hobby boxes at $400 which looks like a bargain compared to what they released the other 3 Select sets at. That is why it is the only 1 of the 4 that sold out on the Panini site. You can still get boxes in the low $400s. I am not saying to rush out and do that but based on the checklist and print run I’d much rather open FIFA than any of the rest. FIFA does have Lionel Messi cards which even La Liga didn’t. Cristiano Ronaldo is still missing as he has been in 2024-25 sets. It is the best rookies of any of the boxes as well.
