2024-25 Panini Select Serie A is here for another year. This year’s hobby boxes follow the same format of all the Select soccer card sets since they reintroduced them in 2022. If you aren’t familiar with the set I suggest reading the 2022-23 Panini Select Serie A review for some background on Select products or the 2024-25 Panini Select La Liga review for more 2024-25 Select specifics.

Checklist HERE
Box Makeup – Hobby (Search On Ebay) – 5 # Cards, 1 Auto
Print Run – ~775 hobby cases

Soccer Cards HQ Review –  Select Serie A has always been the shortest print of the Select releases and 2024-25 is no different. Sadly the print run has gone up each year, but it is still 1/4 that of Select Premier League. The Serie A checklist tends to struggle for top end star power and rookies, and this year is no different. At least for now. There are a couple of rookies like Santiago Castro (Search On Ebay), Ange-Yoan Bonny (Search On Ebay) or Jeff Ekhator (Search On Ebay) that could maybe pull an Assane Diao down the road and if they do they probably won’t get many other cards. That said I wouldn’t go crazy unless you have a lot of faith in one of them. What they did to make up for it was really lean into the legends. I will get into that more below.

The same 4 case hits are back highlighted by Stained Glass (Search On Ebay). It will up to you to decide if you think the market will like this year’s design which you can see in the Kvara image below. Panini made a whopping 17 or the 30 player checklist legends. They even dusted off Diego Maradona again. That is unheard of and a sign of where they think the Serie A current players hobby excitement is. For that reason, the checklist is dominated by the biggest clubs. The good news is the print run on these is still incredibly low at ~25. Visionary (Search On Ebay) and Artistic Impressions (Search On Ebay) never fetch much value for some reason. I’ve always liked the Artistic Impressions design, but I am clearly in the minority. I guess there isn’t enough flash and color for the current collectors. Both of these have a print run of ~30 this year. There are ~38 team badges as well this year.

The autos are going to be very legend heavy as well with players like Ronaldo (Search On Ebay) and Zidane (Search On Ebay) making an appearance. I’d say outside of your case hit auto there won’t be much excitement. They did put some current players back on their former teams for autos. For instance, there is a Federico Chiesa Fiorentina auto. I believe this is his first Fiorentina auto so that could be cool for a Chiesa or Fiorentina collector. A majority of the memorabilia cards don’t move the needle too much. If Panini doesn’t care to try and it shows with collector excitement for these.

The funniest thing to me about the 2024-25 Panini Select Serie A release is that 2023-24 Select Serie A boxes ARE STILL FOR SALE ON PANINI! Now the good news is last year’s boxes were price at $435, and this year is priced at $320. We should all be happy Panini is at least a little self-aware unlike the other big manufacturer. Granted you can buy last year’s boxes on the aftermarket for under $250 (Search On Ebay) now so I am not saying to rush out and pay $320. Granted those singles you are buying now likely won’t have the Stained Glass or case hit auto. I would much rather pay $320 for a box of Serie A than the $300 Panini is trying to get for a box of 2024-25 Select Premier League. The odds are you get a 1/1 and a handful of Golds which can’t be said for EPL. Your case hit auto and Stained Glass in Serie A is likely going to be more valuable than Premier League as well. This is all because of the much lower print run.
