2025 Panini Prizm FIFA Club World Cup has been a long drawn out saga that isn’t even over yet. I have waited to do the review in hopes that we would have a firm release date of the hobby boxes, but that never ending saga carries on. If there is something in hobby boxes that materially changes things I will update the review. US Mega boxes, yes there are two versions of Mega boxes, started showing up last week while the hobby boxes still have an unknown release date after being delayed many times. That on top of the fact that the actual tournament ended 3 months ago. Read the review below to see what you can expect.

2025 Panini Prizm FIFA Club World Cup Checklist and Review

Checklist – HERE
Box Makeup – 1 autograph, 5 numbered parallels, 2 Silver base parallels, 2 Silver inserts parallels and 8 other non numbered parallels per hobby box (Search On Ebay)
Both versions of the Mega Boxes have 2 numbered base parallels and Blasters have 1 numbered parallel Print Run – ~2200 hobby cases, ~180 FOTL cases, 38,000 US Mega Boxes, ~93,000 International Mega Boxes and ~166,000 Blaster Boxes
Soccer Cards HQ Review – When Panini had the idea for 2025 Panini Prizm FIFA Club World Cup they probably thought the demand would be very high based on how much they printed. Each base card has 2877 numbered parallels per card. Just for reference 2024-25 Panini Prizm EPL had 1225 numbered parallels per base card and 2022 Prizm World Cup had 1833. That’s right there are over 1000 more base parallels per card than a Prizm World Cup product. As you can see the hobby box print runs are actually pretty reasonable. It’s all the mega and blaster boxes that really juice the print runs. When you consider Lionel Messi has unlicensed cards plus Cristiano Ronaldo and Lamine Yamal, as well as every other Barcelona player, not being in the product that makes things tough. Bayern Munich and PSG are also unlicensed in the product.
To make up for all of this Panini did something that they knew the hobby couldn’t resist, they put KABOOMs (Search On Ebay) in. Not only did they put KABOOMs they put Gold /10 and Green 1/1s in. Well, we can hope they put the numbered KABOOMs in which they did a really bad job of in 2024-25 Panini Donruss soccer it seems. Yea in case you are not aware most of the Black 1/1s and good Gold /10 didn’t actually make it into boxes, but they did make them out the backdoor… allegedly. Oh yeah and just to show us they really don’t care about the soccer community, Panini put the 2025 Panini Prizm Club World Cup KABOOMs on a flat background for the first time ever which essentially eliminates the KABOOM effect. There is also the use of AI to do the images that will definitely irk some people. This of course after screwing up the 2023 Gold and Black KABOOMs. Panini also managed to put 5 Juventus players in the KABOOM checklist, 4 of which are legends which of course didn’t play in the tournament. I get that they put legends in to sell the product, but if there was one product where they should’ve got creative and added new faces it was this one. It’s also not this is a regular World Cup set so theoretically those legends could’ve played in the tournament the set was based on at some point. They would’ve been wildly collectible to those fan bases since it likely would’ve been their only one ever. There is a Cole Palmer KABOOM which should be very desirable to Chelsea collectors since they won the tournament. You can hit KABOOMs in all Prizm boxes so I don’t know how many total there will be, but safe to say plenty of the base.
There are also Color Blasts (Search On Ebay) and dual Color Blasts. They are white which is the standard in Prizm and are usually more desired than the Blacks that come in Obsidian. Not to be outdone with have 25% of the KABOOM checklist be Juventus players, 7 of the 20 single player Color Blasts are from Real Madrid. At least they included cards from Porto, Salzburg and River Plate in this checklist and didn’t put any EPL teams in the single player since all those teams would’ve already had White Color Blasts from EPL Prizm. They also did pretty good with the pairings on the dual Color Blasts. If those are rare, they should be very collectible. Since it appears that Color Blasts can only be hit in hobby boxes, they should be rare. Especially if they are less than case hits. Pitch Crowns (Search On Ebay) is another “rare” hit in the product. It has a nice diverse checklist. There is even a Christian Pulisic BVB Pitch Crowns because how could Panini miss an opportunity to get Pulisic in a product for a tournament he wasn’t at. Like KABOOMs, Pitch Crowns can be hit in the all the boxes. There are also 1/1s of the FIFA Club World Cup Logo and Trophy. If I was a Chelsea collector those would be cool.
The Dual auto checklist (Search On Ebay) is pretty solid. There are Flashback legend autos. Again, most of these players never played a Club World Cup game in their life. Of the active single player auto checklist it’s a lot of the same players you have seen in Panini products before. It doesn’t seem Panini put in the effort to go out and get many new players for this product despite all the new teams and players there are. That said if you are a Seattle Sounders fan who has desperately been waiting for an unlicensed Jesus Ferreira card, I have some good news for you. Panini had to be so happy they could do a sticker dump of Ferreira since he better not sniff a USMNT again.
Since hobby boxes aren’t released, we don’t know what the price will be. The presale hobby boxes out there are around $425. I would think/hope Panini is well below that in say the $350 range. Even at $350 there are a lot of other soccer hobby boxes I would rather have for the price. That said I know once people start seeing Gold KABOOMs come out (hopefully) there will be FOMO. I do find it interesting that the US Mega boxes are selling for $55+. Considering you get 2 numbered cards and can hit KABOOMs they seem like value compared to paying $425 for a hobby box that gets you 5 numbered cards. I know that hobby parallels are more desirable but let’s be real people are mostly chasing the Gold /10 and 1/1s. I don’t see many people caring if they have a Purple Pandora from hobby or a Teal Seismic from an International Mega. Of course, you get the guaranteed auto and a chance at Color Blasts in hobby but is that really worth it for 6-7x the price when it seems there are 1-2 autos per case in Megas? I guess that will all come down to how common KABOOMs are in the non-hobby and how much these flat background KABOOMs sell for.
I think the thing that most frustrates me about 2025 Panini Prizm FIFA Club World Cup is that it was a great idea and could’ve been a cool set. I love that all these new teams from around the globe are getting soccer cards, and on top of that Prizm soccer cards. I talked to a hobby friend that lives in the UAE and he said the local community there is buzzing to get Al Ain cards. Panini just went and Panini’d the entire set or an own goal if you will. Maybe the licensing issues were out of their control, but the timing and checklists weren’t. The fact that they didn’t make the KABOOMs like they have made every KABOOM ever certainly wasn’t. Panini did some things right in here such as making parallels of Team Badges, but somehow only included 20 of the 32 teams. I also like that the 1/1s are Gold Vinyl instead of Black but that is just a personal preference.
